Presumably, at least some of the blood that Manasseh is said to have spilled freely in Jerusalem must have belonged to YHWH’s devotees. The Hebrew word, believe it or not, is "goy." Don’t worry about the mikvah and milah – focus on the process. If you are converting or know someone who is, this is a very nice read. Maimonides actually also asserted the primacy of love, but had not emphasized it so much in his works, so the views of Judah and Hildai are important in this regard. (Hildai wrote his works expressly as a substitute for Maimonides' works.) Based on the early esotericism of Merkava mysticism, as well as streams of Gnosticism, Neo-platonism, and theosophical Sufism, there began to emerge among the Jewish elite in the 13th century in Spain and Provence, later spreading to Palestine, a variegated movement known as Kabbalah or Cabala (or variants), meaning "received Tradition" of Jewish mysticism.
