You always know it’s going to be an adventure when an Alternative Rock band adds the word “experimental” to it’s genre listing. In the case of Days Are Golden, the experiment was something like “Let’s see if we can keep up with our sloppy drummer and play songs with no identifiable song structure or interesting musical passages whatsoever”. Well if that was the case, they succeeded. At the time of this review, there were 2 tracks (tracks, not songs) listed on the bands Myspace account; “Liberteen” and the six and a half minute instrumental “High on Improv”. Honestly, this review is split down the middle… “Liberteen” is a fine song; the main riff is catchy, and the vocals are decent, but that “High on Improv” shit seriously ruins the moment.
